The team is known as the Trixie CROWD, an acronym that beautifully summarizes what we find important when working together. Our CROWD stands for Creativity, Respect, Open Minded, Work/Life balance and Drive.  

Creativity takes up an important place. When it comes to designing or problem solving, we tend to approach situations with a creative mind set. As this is an important value we want to carry out to children and their parents, it is inherent to our workplace and team as well. Respect is put central. Towards each other, towards the planet and everyone we work with, a respectful attitude is of utmost importance to our team. We keep on open mind set and value a good work-life balance, which results in a positive vibe in the team and a lot of fun on and off work.  

Last but not least, the Trixie team has the drive to make a change. The ambition within everyone of us to build our universe filled with imagination is contagious and uplifting. Self development is very much encouraged by the complete team. Everyone is given the chance to discover their strengths, take up new responsibilities and grow.

The world of Trixie consists of a broad range of products. As we aim to develop in a durable manner, we choose to launch new products in a yearly cycle in stead of every season. Seasonal developments, like you often see in the fashion industry, encourage a consumption culture we prefer not to stimulate. When designing we choose for a contemporary design that fits today's parents and childrens needs with materials that can easily stand the test of time. 

When expanding our product range, we first critically analyze whether the product will actually fulfil the set requirements and functions. Once we are convinced the product will contribute to young family's lives, the development is continued with a

clear focus on timeless design and durability in materials and packaging. This results in a responsible product range of high quality products that can be passed down to siblings or friends for generations to come.

The Trixie community concerns all the partners that help us build our world full of imagination. After defining which products will be added to our range, we take to our trusted suppliers for the realisation of the projects. When a project asks for a new set of skills and expertise, we start the search for a new partner. In order for us to call a product sustainable, our partners should invest in the same values as us; environmentally and socially. We therefore follow a thorough and strict selection procedure.

We thoroughly scan the potential supplier on working conditions, social management, supply chain and environmental engagement. Each design is our very own. We look for partners that share our creative, sustainable mindset and are willing to go the extra mile, so together we can develop products that perfectly match our universe of imagination. 

A sustainable approach also means building long term relationships. We focus on longlasting cooperations with our suppliers. We call on a regular basis and often visit them to stay connected. We believe investing in long term relationships with our partners helps to achieve our set out goals. By working together closely for a long period of time, products and processes can continuously be streamlined and optimized.

Also for the logistic side, we team up with a partner that matches our vision of a sustainable approach for people and planet.  

Our logistics partner highly values its employees, making it their priority to provide the right tools and training so that our employees can always work in the safest conditions. They also work together with specialised partners to introduce multiple integration programs and offer jobs to people with a distance to the labour market.  

Also in terms of care for the planet, our logistics partner steps up to take its responsibility. They partner up with WeForest to help maintain and regrow the nature lost in the past. In order to reduce their footprint to the minimum, all the buildings are equipped with a total of 7.400 solar panels that generate up to 2.220 kwp of electricity every day. We could not be more proud to have a partner that steps up on so many levels to secure our playground.

Another important topic is the care for products. By taking care of products in the right way, you can prolong the lifespan of a product substantially. We therefore make sure that we inform our retailers and consumers about how to optimize the care for our products, so they can enjoy them to the fullest and pass them down to siblings or friends.

At this moment we work very close with our fulfillment partner on supporting good causes. We donate lots of stock items to charity in Belgium. A Charity that is close to home and helps people in need. Goede doel vermelden? 

For all of us, good causes are close to the heart. With a team that is so engaged in helping each other, we got inspired to set out the bigger picture when it comes to charity projects.

We just set up an internal campaign 'Trixie is looking for good causes', through this campaign we want to know to what good causes our Crowd is connected to and continue to invest in the warm hearts of our team and everyone they reach. We truly believe in making a difference for those in need, children and parents. Imagination really should be infinite, for everyone.

These fun friends fulfill their purpose of being the perfect entertainment for babies as teethers and bath toys.

They highly support the development of all senses as their fun shape, texture and soft touch give newborns and babies a lot to discover with both their mouth and hands. The material is perfect for this young age group as it is 100% natural, very light and soft. All items are carefully handpainted with water based paints which are totally harmless for babies. 
 
To cuddle without any care, we brought our animals to live in a cuddly plush range made from organic cotton with a recycled polyester filling in their tummies. The perfect little friend for children as their cuddles are free from any harmful substances. The recycled filling is the ultimate way to close the loop and reuse in stead of making more waste. When it comes to the cardboard range and wooden toys, all items bear the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification. The FSC label guarantees that forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible manner. It ensures that the wood can be traced back to forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically viable. The ink used on the cardboard range is made from soy. All paints used for the wooden toys are water-based and therefore safe for children and the environment. 

When the product function and age group allow it, we prefer recycled materials. For our raincoats, this was exactly the case. The raincoats are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. Plastic bottles are intercepted from the flow of plastic waste and transformed to yarns that can be used to make durable, high quality fabrics. It takes about 40 bottles to make a beautiful raincoat that can be used for years and passed on to siblings or friends afterwards. Also for the matching umbrella's, recycled polyester is used, creating a wonderful sustainable range that stimulates outdoor play! 

Our two tableware collections bring joy to the table, without harming our playground. The Bliss Tableware range is made of plant-based plastic. This material is called PLA which stands for PolyLactic Acid. It is made from renewable, biological resources (like corn, sugar cane, agricultural waste, etc) instead of petroleum.

The production of PLA uses less energy than conventional plastics and the material contains no toxins. The material can be recycled and is biodegradable under industrial circumstances. The Animal Tableware range is made from silicone, a material perfectly suited for tableware and young children. It does not break and is safe to use in the microwave, dishwasher, freezer and oven. Even with intensive use, the tableware will stay in good shape and can easily be passed down to little brothers, sisters or friends. Since it is 100% silicone, it can be recycled multiple times.   

We continuously check new developments within the world of materials and production processes together with our suppliers to optimize the sustainability of our product range. It is an exciting journey that enriches us every day!

Another important aspect is the packaging of our products. In order to keep our playground as green as possible, we try to reduce packaging to the minimum. It is important to recognise the key role that packaging plays. The goal of packaging is to protect a valuable product, making sure it enters the shops without any damage and can be taken home by consumers in perfect shape. In our sustainability strategy, we try to meet this important function with minimal resources and environmental impact.  

We therefore aim to protect our products by packing them in compostable packaging in stead of regular plastic packaging, so no dirt can reach the product when being shipped from supplier to our warehouse and from our warehouse to the shops.  

In the shops we make sure the products are nicely presented and hold all the important information, while limiting the packaging to a minimum. We have removed all plastic packaging for instore products and work with hangtags and cardboard to share information about the product.  

Transport also takes up an important part in the sustainability challenge. We aim to produce close to our resources. This way we can reduce a significant part of transport.  

The organisation of bulk products is carefully managed so we can combine as many orders as possible. When finished products are being shipped to our warehouse, they are gathered in transport to maximize the efficiency. Once arrived at our logistic partner, our products are ready to discover the world!  

To also optimize the transport to our retailers, we make sure orders are smartly combined, so only efficiently filled boxes leave the warehouse.  Our logistics partner greatly helps us in improving this matter day by day. 

Our world of imagination is filled with wonderful products. Our sustainable approach towards this product range also comprises a good product management. This means we have a smart purchase policy with good estimations so what we order matches the demand in the market. This way production can be optimized. Recources are well managed, production lines are efficiently arranged and shipments contain just the right amount of products.
